Satopanth Lake and Swargarohini

At the elevation of 4876 mtrs Satopanth Lake and Swargarohini is situated near Badrinath Dham at the trek distance of 22kms in district Chamoli of Uttarakhand. Badrinath is the famous Hindu pilgrimage site and 310 km from Haridwar and 534 km from national capital Delhi.
Satopanth trek is quite famous and a one of the high altitude trek of the Uttarakhand which enjoyed and explored by visitors over the world. Trek explored snow-covered peaks, waterfall, jungle, trail, glacier, view of Balakun peak, Kuber top, Mt Neelkanth, Mt Swargarohini, and contrast sunshine.   From September last to starting May Lake remain under snow. Summer temperature goes to 12°C in daytime and 7°C to -5°C in the night. And winter temperature drop to -25°C in the day and -36°C in the night. Satopanth Lake, the triangular shaped lake has a perimeter of 1 km and color of green sooth utmost. Afterward Satopanth glacier start by 1km. Which give a gorgeous feel that enriches the whole trip. So most devotees take bath at the time of solar and lunar fortnight for a considerable auspicious time. According to Hindu mythology (Mahabharat), Pandavas took this path to get heaven,  as name refer Swarga: heaven, Rohini: Path.
